Dedicated to the memory of Jack Gaddes

This site is a tribute to Jack Gaddes. He was a much loved husband of 60 years, father, grandad and great-grandad, and will always be remembered. He was a well respected trumpet player with a great love of all music, his skill took him sailing on board the Queen Elizabeth and Franconia ships playing in Geraldos orchestra.Jack and his wife Marjorie were married in Glasgow in 1957 when he was playing in the Benny Daniels band during the production of 'Come Dancing' at the Locarno Ballroom there.

Jack was very proud of his long and eclectic working life outside of music, with never one day out of work since the age of 14 years. He enjoyed his time as a clerical officer with the national coal board rising to managers clerk. He passed away on 10th of February 2018, from lung cancer, asking people to donate in his memory to Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, was an easy decision to make.
